Double Digits

Double Digits is a collection of portraits of young girls in-between times.

It is about finding your way from childhood to adulthood. It is about fitting in and to sticking out. It is about becoming older. It is about reflection. It is about dreams.
It is about hope and celebration.
My eldest is now 12- strong and confidant. Smiles easily. But she will change. It is inevitable.
Her body will change. Her habits and her desires will change. Her mind will expand and she will learn more about the world.
They will all change.
They will find love outside the arms of their family. They will move away from home.
Some will be lucky. Some won’t be so lucky.
Unfortunately we have inherited a world that will challenge them on personal, physical, political, and emotional levels.
Maybe they know this already.
Maybe they don’t.
